The best and worst drivers by profession has now been revealed

Are you one of Britain’s worst drivers? We recently completed a study that looked at over 400,000 motorists to shed light on the driving habits of the British public, revealing the best and worst drivers on the roads. We’ve had a look at the data from our annual report and can now reveal which professions are the most accident-prone drivers according to their profession.

Top 10 worst drivers by profession:

  1. Financial Advisor
  2. Doctor
  3. Pharmacist
  4. Dentist
  5. Solicitor
  6. Accountant

The data shows that financial advisors are some of Britain’s worst drivers on the roads, moving up the rankings of the most accident-prone drivers from fourth to first position. It seems doctors, dentists and pharmacists may be responsible when it comes to health and hygiene, but it’s a different story behind the wheel. They all sit within the top five professions who have had the most accidents in 2017.

Top 10 best drivers by profession:

  1. Painter
  2. Farm Worker

Meanwhile, painters are amongst the most cautious, leaping up the rankings of best drivers from tenth to first. Chefs enter the list of safest drivers for the first time this year and farm workers, builders and mechanics all remain amongst the safest drivers on the roads for a second year running.

Andy James, Commercial Director at 1ST CENTRAL commented: “Regardless of their profession it’s important that everyone has the appropriate protection in place, should they be unlucky enough to be involved in a car accident. At 1ST CENTRAL we provide consumers with a simple way to insure not only themselves, but their friends and family too, whilst on the road with other drivers who may not be as safe as they are behind the wheel.”

See all those who say builders and white van man are the worst we’re ranked 1st and 3rd!

Those who cannot afford paying fines are the best drivers and vice versa. This was expected…
The fines must be set in percents from the income and not be fixed.

I disagree. I think this is about those who are accustomed to rapid decision making based on evidence available – sometimes limited. And also the intensity of the working environment encouraging those professionals to get things done quickly. Naturally feeds into other aspects of life. And I know plenty of doctors with little money (and I am not a doctor)
